Sarah Duddy is the newest member of the studio group.

She is a graduate of the University of Ulster and member of the Knights of the Round Table arts collective.

Ascension Series

This series of paintings is called the ascension series. The paintings have a dream-like and atmospheric quality. The contrasting colours and textural surface creates a dramatic tension within the work. I use abstracted vocabulary where forms represent pathways and portholes which draw the viewer to a subconscious state of mind, being elevated into the light and out of the darkness. The paintings play with realms of consciousness guiding towards peaceful enlightenment.

Biography

Originally From Newtownstewart, Co. Tyrone now based in Belfast, this is Sarah's second solo exhibition. Having recently graduated from the University of Ulster With a BA Hons Degree in Fine and Applied Arts Sarah is a working member of Array Studios and the Belfast Print Workshop. Sarah's work was selected for the annual RUA exhibition in Ormeau Baths and her work has been displayed in many galleries throughout Ireland and Scotland.
