Ashley Holmes is an American artist based in Belfast. She studied at the Massachusetts College Of Art (BFA), 1990, and completed an MA at the Chelsea College Of Art, London, 1995. She also completed an MFA at the University Of Colorado, Boulder, 1998.

"The Down Arts Centre commissioned an innovative new visual art exhibition as part of the 2003 Opera Fringe Festival. Puccini's Protagonists, created by American artist Ashley Holmes, is an exhibition made up of dolls in dioramas with each scene being an interpretation of one of Puccini's operas -Tosca, Madame Butterfly, Turandot etc."
